Applus+ updates on the Illinois vehicle emissions contract
12/08/2014
Applus Services, S.A. (“Applus+” or “the Group”) updates the market on the status of the vehicle emissions testing and inspection services contract managed on behalf of the State of Illinois.
This contract has been operated by Applus+ since 2008 and in the full year 2013 generated revenue of approximately €10 million. The contract expiry date is 30 April 2015 for which the State of Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) ran a Request for Proposal for its renewal. Applus+ was notified on 21 May 2014 that the contract had been awarded to another company. Following a Protest made by the Group to the Chief Procurement Officer, it has been determined that the Protest is granted and the award has been cancelled.
It is expected the IEPA will run a new Request for Proposal and Applus+ will submit a new bid.
