Applus+ appoints Nicolás Villén as an Independent Member of its Board of Directors

Barcelona, November 27, 2015 – Applus+, one of the world´s leading companies in Testing, Inspection and Certification, announces the appointment of Nicolás Villén Jiménez as an Independent Member of its Board of Directors. Villén has also been appointed as a member of the Audit Committee.
Nicolás Villén’s appointment will be submitted for ratification at the next General Shareholders’ Meeting of Applus+ and he will fill the vacancy as a member of the Audit Committee following the resignation of Josep María Panicello.
Nicolás Villén’s appointment further demonstrates the Company’s commitment to the best corporate governance practices. After the appointment, the Board of Directors will comprise five independent directors, three proprietary directors and one executive director.
Nicolás Villén has a broad professional career in companies with a significant international presence. He was Ferrovial Aeropuertos’ CEO (2009-2012) and before that, Ferrovial’s CFO (1993-2009). He was also a member of various board of directors including Aer Lingus plc, BAA ltd and AMEY plc. Currently, he advises IFM (Australian infrastructure fund) and Airport of Regions (Russian airport management group) and he is a Board Member of ACR Grupo and CLH.
