LDAR (leak detection and repair) programs deploy VOC emission control to reduce fugitive emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) as both an occupational risk and wastage. More specifically, LDAR programs aim to determine the diffuse or fugitive emissions of organic compounds; minimise odour episodes; reduce the risk of explosion as a result of organic-compound emissions; and reduce wastage of raw materials or products.
The experience and knowledge of LDAR programs and VOC emission control at Applus+ is world leading. We have a range of specialist equipment for carrying out LDAR programs, including infrared cameras for the identification of vanishing points and PIDs/FIDs for detecting and quantifying emissions. Our services also utilise a database to record and monitor the various LDAR program undertaken over time, including the relative emissions levels of each element inspected.
Applus+ Norcontrol is an environmental inspection agency accredited by ENAC to work in all environmental management areas, working as Authorized Control Agency (or equivalent) for more than 25 years. We always adapt our LDAR testing and inspection procedures, aligning them with the appropriate standards for each inspection and pollutant.
Our extensive geographical distribution means that we can respond quickly and reliably to clients’ needs, wherever they may be based.
The services for LDAR programs and monitoring are aimed primarily at companies in the refining, petrochemical and advanced-chemical sectors that use raw materials or products which require VOC emission control.
