Barcelona, September 22nd of 2016.- Applus Services, S.A. (“Applus+”), one of the world’s leading companies in Testing, Inspection and Certification, today announces the appointment with immediate effect of Mr. Claudi Santiago as a non-executive independent director of the Board. He is also appointed as a member of the Appointments and Remuneration Committee replacing the interim appointment of Mr. Christopher Cole.
Mr. Santiago is the Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer at First Reserve Corporation, a private equity firm exclusively focused on investment in the energy sector and which he joined in 2012. Previous to this, Mr. Santiago was at General Electric in a variety of executive positions including Senior Vice President of GE, and President and CEO of GE Oil & Gas, a $15 billion revenue oilfield service business.
Mr. Santiago holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona and completed postgraduate studies from INSEAD in Fontainebleau (France) and Georgetown University in Washington D.C. (USA).
